The Story:
The PANTOTO Software development team first tried to get a taste of their own medicine when they started reporting bugs on the PANTOTO Communities Software. What started out as an implementation for bugs with the three categories of information grew into an Intranet very quickly. The intranet now has over 150 active categories of information and over 5000 pages of content. Within this community we have sub communities for developers, business development, documentation, individual projects, and fun spaces. Each employee has his or her own area on the Intranet which he or she is responsible for. Everything from daily reports to expenditure vouchers is managed through the system. The information management system has been continuously evolving and changes flavor every time the responsibility of managing the entire system is delegated.
Intranets by definition, need to be highly customized to meet the information needs of an organization. In order to become useful to individuals they need to be kept up-to-date, not by one individual but by every stakeholder within the organization. The system must be flexible enough.
